Dino Polska recaps business performance in 2023

In 2023 The Dino Group’s revenue totaled PLN 25.7 billion and was 29.6% higher than in 2022. At the end of 2023 the network consisted of 2,406 stores, 250 more than one year ago. The capital expenditures earmarked for the firm’s development totaled PLN 1.2 billion, which was accompanied by the creation of 4.5 thousand new jobs. The Dino Group’s total headcount at the end of 2023 was 41.9 thousand employees.

In Q4 the Dino network opened 66 new stores, and year-to-date it added 250 new stores. At the end of 2023, there were 2,406 stores bearing Dino’s distinctive red logo in Poland. Thanks to their uniform format and convenient location they make it easier for consumers doing their daily shopping for groceries and staples.

At the end of 2023 the total selling area in Dino stores was 947.9 thousand square meters, up 11.8% from one year ago. The capital expenditures earmarked for the firm’s development in 2023 totaled PLN 1.2 billion. The Dino Group’s cumulative capex spend over the last five years reached the level of PLN 5.8 billion.

Revenue in 2023 totaled PLN 25.7 billion and was up 29.6% from one year ago. 40% of revenue came from the sales of fresh products, especially fruit and vegetables, bread and the fresh meat produced by the Agro-Rydzyna meat processing plant. Fresh products are delivered to Dino stores every morning. The like-for-like (LfL) sales growth rate in stores in existence for longer than one year was 17.2% in 2023.

“The effort we made during the last year to pursue geographic expansion and mold the offering of Dino stores enabled us to make great strides in our firm’s growth. The number of customer visits to the Dino network is growing at a double-digit pace, while the size of its business measured by sales revenue during the last two years has nearly doubled”, said Michał Krauze, Management Board Member of Dino Polska.

PV installations to provide our company with clean electricity have been a regular part of the equipment installed in newly-opened Dino stores. At the end of 2023, 2,138 stores, representing 89% of Dino’s overall network had been outfitted with PV installations. We also have our own installations using renewable energy sources in operation in three of the Group’s distribution centers, and work to commission more installations is underway on the premises of the other distribution centers. The total capacity of the RES installations owned by the Dino Group at the end of 2023 was 82.9 MW. In 2023 Dino Polska sourced 66.4 GWh of solar power, some 65.6% more than in 2022.
