Dino Polska S.A. continued to grow its profitability in the first three quarters of 2020. Revenue in this period totaled PLN 7.4 billion, which was accompanied by double-digit sales growth in the current store network (LfL) of 13%. The Company also posted EBITDA growth of 42.9% year on year to PLN 723 million and further improvement in its EBITDA margin of 0.7 percentage points to 9.8%.
According to its strategy Dino Polska S.A. is investing in ongoing expansion: both in the rollout of its store network and in the expansion of its logistics base. During the first three quarters of 2020 the Company designated PLN 681 million to investments versus PLN 594 million in the corresponding period of last year.
During the period from January to September 2020 the Dino network increased its store count by 153 versus 138 new stores in the corresponding period of the previous year; consequently, it consisted of 1,371 stores around the country at the end of September 2020. In the last 12 months Dino Polska S.A. launched 258 new stores. “In keeping with our strategy we invest in sustaining a high pace of expansion. During the year the Dino network has expanded by more than 23% and by 91% in the last three years”, says Michał Krauze, Management Board Member and CFO of Dino Polska S.A. “We have an intensive period in front of us during which we are planning a large number of new openings to give consumers the opportunity to shop comfortably in Dino stores in new sites close to their homes”, recaps Michał Krauze.
Dino Polska is also continuing to make environmental investments. At the end of September 2020, the Company has installed photovoltaic panels on the rooftops of 237 stores. “Investments to reduce the Company’s environmental impact are extremely important to us. At present, we are running several initiatives in this area with the largest one being the installation of photovoltaic panels on the rooftops of Dino stores across the country”, says Izabela Biadała, Management Board Member of Dino Polska S.A. The Company plans for 400 Dino stores across Poland to be powered by solar energy in early next year.
